Originally designed and built by the United States Army Corps of Engineers to provide flood protection for Kane'ohe, Hoomaluhia Botanical Garden now includes campgrounds, a lake, nature walk trails, crafts center and cloud watching. A visitor center with lecture room, exhibition hall, workshop and botanical library is on-site as well. Visitors can enjoy guided nature hikes on the weekends.
